Pozzilli

Pozzilli is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2317 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Isernia in Molise. The community is located about 16 kilometers southwest of Isernia and directly borders the provinces of Frosinone and Caserta. The southeastern boundary of the municipality is the Volturno.

History

Near the village there is a Camerelle Samnite necropolis. From ancient Roman times part of aqueduct of Augustus is obtained. By 1810 Pozzilli was part of the neighboring municipality of Venafro.

Economy and Transport

Neuro Medical research companies have settled in the municipality after this one of the most important research centers in Italy was built in this area since 1991. Passing through the municipality, a branch of SR 6, the Strada Statale 6 Diramzione Casilina that connects to the Strada Statale 85 Venafrana.
