George Parks Highway

The George Parks Highway (Alaska Route 3 ) is a main road in the U.S. state of Alaska, which connects to a length of 520 kilometers from the Glenn Highway north of Anchorage to Fairbanks in the Interior. The original name of the road was completed in 1971 Anchorage - Fairbanks Highway. In 1975 it was renamed in honor of George Alexander Parks, a former governor of Alaska, to its present name.

The George Parks Highway runs parallel to the Alaska Railroad over long distances. He is the main link between Anchorage and Fairbanks, the two largest cities of Alaska, and the only road access to Denali National Park and the main route to the Matanuska- Susitna Valley northeast of Anchorage.

Course
