Glenn Morris

Glenn Edward Morris ( born June 18, 1912 in Denver, Colorado; † January 31, 1974 in Palo Alto, California ) was an American track and field athlete.

Life

He won at the Olympics in Berlin in 1936 the gold medal in the decathlon world record of 7900 points, which corresponds to 7254 points after today's point standings. Overall, Morris graduated just three ten fights, all in 1936.

After Morris was two years at 20th Century Fox contract and was used in four films. He played the lead role in the 1938 film Tarzan Tarzan 's Revenge, to the Hugo Riesenfeld contributed the soundtrack. The role of Jane took over the swimming Olympic gold medalist Eleanor Holm. After the failure of the film Morris worked as an insurance agent, was drafted with the USA entered the war to the U.S. Navy and had to be treated for mental trauma long. He died after years of health problems.
