Geography

Gostling an der Ybbs is in the Most district in Lower Austria Eisenwurzen in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the municipality covers 143.55 square kilometers. 84.7 percent of the area is forested.

The market is located on the northeast. Iron street in Göstlinger Alps ( 1808 m Hochkar, Dürrenstein 1878 m) in the tri-border region of Lower Austria, Styria, Upper Austria and belongs to the political district Scheibbs. History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 2,181 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 2,187 inhabitants in 1981 and 2,198 in 1971, 2,159 inhabitants.

Policy

The council has 21 seats, mayor of the municipality is Franz Heigl, office manager Walter Ruspekhofer.
