Grassau is a district of the town Bismark ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The Altmark Grassau village is located about 13 km as the crow from the lying to the southeast county town of Stendal. The area around Grassau is undulating and has large forested areas in the north- west.

History

The scale as Wendish Rundling site first appeared in 1238 on in a document. The church was built in the second half of the 12th century fieldstone. The family of Jeetze had possessions in Grassau.

Until December 31, 2009 Grassau was an independent municipality with the associated hamlets Bülitz and Grünenwulsch.
