Geography

The village of Holzhausen is located south of the town Bismark ( Altmark), west of Stendal and east of Kalbe (Milde ). In the south of the municipality of Secantsgraben forms the border with the Altmark Salzwedel. Holzhausen is located on Endmoränenbogen that stretches from Kremkau east to Stendal.

History

Until 31 December 2009, Holzhausen was an independent municipality and a member of the now defunct administrative community Bismark / Kläden.

Decided that their communities dissolved and a new unified community named town Bismark (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.
