Gymnastics at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's parallel bars

The finals on parallel bars of the men at the 2012 Olympics in London was held on 7 August 2012 at The O ₂. Overall, occurred in nine Turner.

In the qualifying competition on 28 July 2012, eight Turner had qualified for the final. The regulations stipulated that only two gymnasts per NOC could compete in the final. A third qualifier was not allowed to compete and was replaced by a Turner, who had cut off as the next best. Kohei Uchimura of Japan, who finished 5th in qualifying, had, as his compatriots Yusuke and Kazuhito Tanaka had already qualified to retire. As a substitute, the Frenchman Hamilton Sabot jumped. Because of China's Zhang Chenglong, also nominated as a reservist, had the exact same rating ( difficulty, execution and overall ) as Sabot, he was allowed to participate in the Finals as the ninth Turner as well.

The rating of an exercise consisted of difficulty (D -score) and the execution (E -score), which were added to the total score and subtracted from the possible penalty points. If two gymnasts have the same total score, the higher rating is the execution of the rash.

Final result

Hamilton Sabot erturnte the first French medal on the parallel bars. Feng Zhe (CHN ) and the Japanese Sawao Katō (1972 /76) are the only previous Turner on bars that could repeat their Olympic victories.
