Hakan Çalhanoğlu

Hakan Calhanoglu [ ˌ lu ː t͡ʃalhano ] ( born February 8, 1994 in Mannheim ) is a Turkish football player, who also has German nationality. It is primarily used as an attacking midfielder and is currently under contract at Hamburg SV.

Career

Association

Calhanoglu began playing football at the local clubs FC 1 Turanspor Mannheim and police SV Mannheim before he moved to the youth department of SV Waldhof Mannheim age of seven. In the summer of 2009, he was obliged by Karlsruher SC for the youth department. He drew attention to himself in the U -19 league, so he 2011/12 the preparation under coach Jørn Andersen was allowed to complete with the first team during the winter break of the season. National

Calhanoglu has played for several youth national teams (U -16, U -17, U -19, U -21) of the Turkish Football Federation. He also holds German citizenship, but has already denied a senior international for Turkey and is no longer eligible to play for the representative teams of the DFB.

As part of the U- 20 World Cup in 2013 he was appointed to the tournament line-up of the Turkish U-20 national team. The team reached the second round and was eliminated by a 1:4 defeat against the French selection from the tournament. Calhanoglu completed all the players of his team and was one of the most prominent players of the tournament. Through his first goal in the final group match against the Australian U-20 national team, he scored with a shot, he initiated the victory of his team and thus the next round.

For the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Romania Calhanoglu was called by Turkey coach Fatih Terim in the senior team and gave the Substitutes in the encounter against the selection of Andorra on September 6, 2013 his international debut.
