Hannu Toivonen

Hannu Toivonen ( born May 18, 1984 in Kalvola ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since July 2011 the Malmö Redhawks in the HockeyAllsvenskan under contract. Career

Toivonen started his career in the Finnish A-Juniors league at HPK Hämeenlinna, where he was employed in 31 games. In 2002 he took part in the U20 World Junior Championships and won a bronze medal with Finland.

NHL Entry Draft 2002, he was selected in the first round at position 29 of the Boston Bruins. His success at the World Cup brought him to the 2002/03 season in the SM- liiga, where he completed 24 games for HPK. He remained undefeated in 13 consecutive games.
