Have You Ever? is a ballad songwriter Diane Warren who wrote the for the Contemporary R & B singer Brandy. The song was released in late 1998 and early 1999. The ballad reached number one on the New Zealand and the U.S. single charts.
Background
Production was orchestrated by David Foster. For the singer from the black music scene working with the pop producer was a new experience. In an interview in 2005, Brandy spoke to the studio recording of the song as follows:
" That was the first time I had been in the studio with a producer like David Foster, [ ... ] My voice was not as developed as it is now and the song required what producers call ' money notes' - the child did get you a no. 1 on the charts! I was really nervous but it all worked just fine "

The song was released on the second studio album Never Say Never; The single is the third international and the second U.S. single from the album.
Music Video
Brandy is in the video in the empty apartment of her boyfriend's, while there look at old video recordings of their time together. It is the first video in which Brandy no braids, braids wearing, which were a kind of trademark until then. So she can be seen with African or relaxed hair. The director for the video led Kevin Bray. Brandy Have You Ever? was successful in the charts; in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 as well as in New Zealand was the second song by The Boy Is Mine Brandy's number -one hit in a row. Internationally, the song reached also, among others, the top twenty in the UK, Canada and Australia, and the top thirty in Holland and Ireland. Although the song was a number -one hit in several states, he flopped in some countries, such as France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland or Austria.
