Geography

Geographical location

Hoßkirch lies south of the wooded mountain range car hard Ostrach between the west and the east Altshausen. South of the village is the Königseggsee.

Neighboring communities

Hoßkirch bordered to the east by Eichstegen, to the south Guggenhausen, on the southwest by Königseggwald (all district Ravensburg ), on the west by Ostrach and to the north by Bad Saulgau (both in Sigmaringen ).

The commune includes in addition to the eponymous Hoßkirch the districts Hüttenreute (since 1970 ), sand house, Ratzenreute, Milpishaus, Wolfertsreute, Watt / Forestry House and clover fields.

History

By finds a settlement of the local area is occupied in the Neolithic period. Documented the Church of Hoßkirch was first mentioned in 1098 in a document of the monastery vineyard as Husechirche. 1269 the settlement was granted by the Weingarten Abt Hermann von Biechtenweiler city rights. Mayor
