Intibucá Department

Intibucá is one of the 18 departments in Honduras in Central America.

The capital of the department is La Esperanza. Intibucá features to the south across an external border with El Salvador.

The department was founded in 1883 by a split from the departments of La Paz and Gracias a Dios.
