Introzzo

Introzzo is a municipality in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, with 129 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

History

In the Middle Ages the area was called Mont'lntrozzo. Thus, the whole valley was meant, whose main town is Introzzo today. However, it is also the name Monte di Dervio is transmitted, which is reminiscent of the name of the neighboring village Dervio. The first road to Introzzo was built as a military road during the First World War.

Geography

Introzzo is located about 25 km north of the provincial capital of Lecco and 70 km north-east of the metropolis of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Dervio, Dorio, Sueglio and Tremenico.
