The Jan Louwers Stadium is a football stadium in the southern Netherlands city of Eindhoven, North Brabant province. It was completed in 1934 and currently offers 4,500 spectators a covered loc, including 102 VIP seats and 40 jobs for journalists. Main users of the stadium is the Erstdivisionär FC Eindhoven.

History

The stadium in the southern district stratum was built in the 1930s by the city of Eindhoven, to give the football club FC Eindhoven, a new home for its home games. Inaugurated on September 9, 1934, a game between the FC and Ajax Amsterdam, which lost the hosts with 2:8. To the Stadium on Aalsterweg emerged in the following decades, a sports park, where also an indoor sports center and the fields of hockey clubs Oranje Zwart and EMHC are located.

Originally, the oval of two grandstands on the west and south sides. Only in 1997 the East Stand was built. Also in 1997, the stadium was named after the Dutch soccer player Jan Louwers, who played 1952-1955 at FC Eindhoven and the club in 1954 led to his only Dutch championship. Since the season 2006/ 07, the four stands are named after the former player Noud van Melis, Dick Snoek, Frans Tebak and Henk Bloemers FC Eindhoven.
