Jaroslav Kulhavý
Jaroslav Kulhavý ( born January 8, 1985 in Ústí nad Orlicí ) is a Czech mountain bike and cyclocross riders.
Sports career
Jaroslav Kulhavý won at the 2002 Mountain Bike Championship in Zurich the silver medal in the Junior Cross Country. The next year he won at the European Championships in Graz, the gold medal and he was also Junior World Champion. In the 2007 season he won the Cyprus Race Under The Sun. He also became Czech Champion in the U23 and in the elite class. In the U23 category, he was also Vice - European Champion and third in the World Championship. The next year Kulhavý defended his national championship titles and participated in the Summer Olympics in Beijing. In Cyclocross he won the TOI TOI Cup race in Hole Vrchy.
In the Cross-Country World Championships in 2011 in the Swiss Champery he won the gold medal in front of the Swiss Nino Schurter and the French veteran Julien Absalon. In 2012 he was again in front of Nino Schurter in London Olympic champion. In 2013, Kulhavy won along with teammate Christoph Sauser the Appreciation of the Cape Epic, the largest mountain bike stage race in the world.
Honors
Jaroslav Kulhavý was honored with induction into the Hall of Fame of the European Cycling Union Union Européenne de Cyclisme.
