Jeroen Dijsselbloem

Jeroen René Victor Anton Dijsselbloem [ jəɾun dɛi̯səlblum ] ( born March 29, 1966 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch politician of the Partij van de Arbeid ( PvdA). Since November 2012, he was Minister of Finance in the Cabinet Rutte II Since January 2013 he is chairman of the euro group.

Life

1978-1985 attended Dijsselbloem the Eckart College, Eindhoven. After graduating from college in 1985 studied Dijsselbloem to 1991 at the University of Wageningen Agricultural Economics with a focus on business administration, agricultural policy and social economic history. In 1991 he completed his studies after a period of research in preparation for the final work. Unlike stated in an earlier version of his official biography, but he did not graduate in Cork, but rather holds a master's from the University of Wageningen.

In 1992, Dijsselbloem first as an assistant for the PvdA Group in the European Parliament and joined in 1993 as a consultant for regional planning, environmental and agricultural policy for the PvdA faction in the Dutch parliament. From 1996 to 1998 he worked on the staff of the Agricultural Minister Jozias van Aartsen and then to 2000, deputy head of the rod.

After Dijsselbloem in 1985 the PvdA had joined and for this sat from 1994 to 1997 in the City Council of Wageningen, he moved in March 2000 by the House of Representatives. In the parliamentary elections on 15 May 2002, he could not win a seat; but he moved in November 2002 and since then has been up again after his appointment as Minister of Finance 2012 Member of the House of Representatives. There he was spokesperson on education and youth services, and chairman of a parliamentary committee on innovations in education in 2007 /08.

2008 Dijsselbloem was elected Vice Presidents and took over after the resignation of Job Cohen in February 2012 as acting the group's presidency. When the right-wing liberal Volkspartij voor de Vrijheid Democracy (VVD ) and the social-democratic PvdA negotiated as a result of the general election 2012 on the formation of a grand coalition, Dijsselbloem was chief negotiator with the PvdA top candidates Diederik Samsom. In forming the government on November 5, 2012 ( Cabinet Rutte II) he was Finance Minister under Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

In March 2013, the Republic of Cyprus was on the verge of sovereign default; Dijsselbloem and other euro zone finance ministers met all night long. His negotiations also been criticized.

Dijsselbloem lives with his partner and two children.
