Joëlle Milquet

Joëlle F.G.M. Milquet ( born February 16, 1961 in Charleroi ) is a Walloon -Belgian politician of the French-speaking Christian Democrat Party - humanist center démocrate Humaniste ( cdH ). From March 2008 to December 2011 she was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Employment and retirement in the Cabinet Leterme. Since December 6, 2011 she is an interior minister in the government Di Rupo.

She has studied law at the Université catholique de Louvain and then worked in various professions. From 1995 to 1999 she was a senator. Since 1999 she is head of the party cdH ( first of the Parti Social Chrétien (PSC ), the forerunner of cdH ) and member of the Chamber of Deputies. Since 2006 she has also alderman of the capital Brussels.
