John S. Wold

John Schiller Wold ( born August 31, 1916 in East Orange, New Jersey ) is a former American politician. Between 1969 and 1971 he represented the state of Wyoming in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

John Wold attended until 1934, the Taft High School in Watertown (Connecticut). He then continued his education at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and at Union College in Schenectady (New York). There, he graduated in 1939. He was geologist who specialized in the exploration of oil, gas, coal and uranium deposits. During the Second World War, John Wold served in the U.S. Navy.

Political career

Wold was a member of the Republican Party. From 1957 to 1959 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Wyoming. At the same time he was chairman of the party in that State.
