John Turek

John Turek ( born February 19, 1983 in Council Bluffs, Iowa ) is an American professional basketball player. After completing his studies in his home country Turek played from 2005 as a professional in Europe. In addition to a station in Belgium, he moved here between clubs from the Netherlands, Poland and Germany back and forth. In the 2013/14 season Turek is in France at second division Champagne Basket under contract.

Career

After high school graduation in 2001, Turek decided on a scholarship from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in the neighboring U.S. state. Their high school team ( Corn ) Huskers played in Turek's active phase in the Big 12 Conference of the NCAA, in which they had no chance in the awarding of the championship title and also reached no qualification for a national NCAA finals. The Huskers played Turek temporarily along with the future basketball league professional Andrew Drevo.

After graduating in 2005 Turek professional in Europe and began his career in the Netherlands in February at BC Omniworld from Almere. With this club he left at the end of the season in the first play-off round of the championship against defending Demon Astronauts Amsterdam.
