Jonas Jerebko

Jonas Jerebko ( born March 2, 1987 in Kinna, Sweden) is a Swedish professional basketball player.

International career

Jonas Jerebko plays professional basketball for the 2005-2006 season. He started his career in his home town of Kinna at Marbo Basket. He spent the next season in Luleå at Plannja Basket. He then moved into the Italian Lega Basket Serie A Angelico Biella to where he graduated from 2007-2009 56 games ( 49 of them as a starter ). In the 2008/2009 season he made 9 points and 5.5 rebounds on average.

2009 NBA Summer League

Jonas Jerebko took part for the team the Detroit Pistons in the 2009 NBA Summer League. He played in all five games of the Pistons and started in two games. His average of 28 minutes per game, he spent mainly as a center or power forward. He reached a little more than 12 points in a hit rate of 48.5 % from the field and 6 rebounds per game. Against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he scored 19 points with a personal Summer League high performance, in the game against the New York Knicks he got 12 rebounds.

NBA

Jerebko was drafted in the NBA Draft in 2009 ranked 39th by the Detroit Pistons. In early March he was honored as rookie of the month of February in the Eastern Conference.

Personal

Chris Jerebko, Jonas father played for the Syracuse University in college and then professional basketball in Sweden. Jonas Jerebko wanted in the United States to play on the same college as his father in 2005, but decided against college and for the Swedish basketball league ligands.
