K. Sint-Truidense V.V.

The VV St. Truiden ( officially Koninklijke Sint- Truidense Voetbalvereniging ) is a Belgian football club from Sint -Truiden and currently playing in the second division.

History

The club was founded in 1924 after the merger between the Union FC and FC Gold Star, two clubs from Sint -Truiden, as Sint- Truidense Voetbal Vereeniging. The colors of football clubs were after the colors of the city flag - yellow and blue - chosen. Two years later the club was connected at the Royal Belgian Football Association and has since the student number 373 The first game against Cercle Tongeren was played before nine spectators. In the late 1940s, the team had qualified for the second division. In addition, the club name was changed in 1947 in Sint- Truidense Voetbalvereniging and most recently in 1952 Koninlijke Sint- Truidense Voetbalvereniging. 2001, the former Sint- Truidense goalkeeper Jacky Mathijssen as the new coach was appointed and remained so for three years, after which he coached the team Sporting Charleroi. For the season 2004 /05 Marc Wilmot took over as coach at VV St. Truiden, but was dismissed in February 2005. The team finished the season under coach Guy Trio Mangelschots Eddy Raymaekers and Peter Voets.

According to a twelfth place in the 2010/11 season Sint-Truiden began the new season again with coach Guido Brepoels. But in the fourth year of his term of office had Brepoels vacate his seat after only five games after his team until then only was able to record a point.
