Kamphaeng Saen District

Amphoe Kamphaeng Saen ( Thai: อำเภอ กำแพงแสน ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northwestern province ( Changwat ) Nakhon Pathom. The Nakhon Pathom province is located in the middle of Central Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring Amphoe are from clockwise from the North: Amphoe Song Phi Nong province of Suphanburi, Amphoe Bang Len, the Don Mueang Nakhon Pathom Tum and the province of Nakhon Pathom, Amphoe Ban Pong Ratchaburi Province and Amphoe Tha Maka Kanchanaburi province.

History

Kamphaeng Saen was an ancient city of the Dvaravati period. The ruins of chedi, Viharns and fragments of pottery were found in the area of ​​the old city.
