Koit Toome

Koit Toome ( born January 3, 1979 in Tallinn) is an Estonian pop singer and musical star.

Training

Koit Toome learned at the age of seven years of piano at the Music High School of Tallinn. From 1994, he attended the prestigious Georg Ots Music School in the subjects of jazz piano, jazz and pop singing. He became famous in 1998 with the album Duetid on which it occurs with popular Estonian singers.

Code One

Already in 1995, founded Koit Toome the band Code One, in which he is active as a bandleader, singer, pianist and keyboardist. Other members are:

  • Sirli Hiius ( Artist name: Sarah ), singing
  • Reigo Ahven, drums
  • Mihkel Mälgand, bass
  • Priit Jääger, guitar

In addition Koit Toome occurs as a known individual artist in Estonia. Internationally, he is touring among others in the musical Hair, Les Miserables, Dance of the Vampires, Miss Saigon and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Euro Vision Song Contest

When Euro Vision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham represented Koit Toome Estonia. With the song Mere Lapsed ( German children of the sea) he reached 36 points. He finished in twelfth place with Portugal.
