Kolnowice

Kohldorf (Polish: Kolnowice ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Carbon village located in the municipality Zülz ( Biała) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Carbon village is located six kilometers west of the parish seat Zülz, nine kilometers north of the county town Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 39 kilometers southwest of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

History

The town was first mentioned in 1235 as " In Villa Collini ". 1534 mention as " Kolnowitz ". In 1865 the town had 22 farmers, 18 gardeners and 53 smallholdings.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 Kohldorf was outside the voting area. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Kolnowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the powiat Prudnicki. On 6 March 2006 German was in the community Zülz who belongs Kohldorf, introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Kohldorf.
