History

Grave mound fields at Angersdorf indicate a settlement of the area in the Bronze Age.

" On Kröning " was the name for the elongated ridge rechts der Isar from Landshut to Niederviehbach. Whether nominations from the 13th century ( Kroninch, Chronich ) refer to Kröning, is uncertain. Secured documents appear until the 15th century ( Kronig, Kronign ). 1752 is the local name Cröning, 1782-1787 finally Kröning. It was originally a field name, possibly derived from rone ( fallen tree trunk). From him, the municipality has its historical name from the core area in an extended Königsgutsbezirk the late Middle Ages.

The settlement of Kröning, probably a royal Forsthof, became the focus of Special Economic Community of Hafner on the Kröning. It stored here masses of Feinfliez, which are embedded in layers of high-quality sound. Since the 15th century, the molded therefrom Kröninger dish was both in the rural as well as in the civil and electoral households for fixed stock. The Kröninger Hafnerei was a country craft, which was usually operated in widely scattered small villages, hamlets and wastelands.

With the formation of the District Court Vilsbiburg and the dissolution of the District Court Teisbach in the course of the reorganization at the beginning of the 19th century was so far mainly as a field name known Kröning municipality status. With the first municipality edict of 1808/1811 the tax district No. 8 Kröning in Rentamt Teisbach with two villages, 16 hamlets and 34 wastes was formed in 1818 followed on the basis of the tax district, the country directed diagram Kröning community.

The majority of the inhabitants of the municipality Kröning is engaged in agriculture. The other find job opportunities in the premises of the neighboring towns of Landshut, Vilsbiburg and especially Dingolfing. For large and small bed Rain blue tone is still mined, the earlier formed the basis for the Kröninger Hafnerei and now is used primarily in the manufacture of roof tiles. A large collection & information about the Kröninger potters are in the local museum Vilsbiburg.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, the formerly independent communities Dietel churches and Jesendorf were incorporated.

Assignments

On May 1, 1978, parts of the territory of the neighboring communities Adlkofen and Gerzen, assigned on 1 January 1980 at Niederaichbach.

Policy

Eight months after the war, found on 27 January 1946, the first municipal elections ( local elections ) in the municipalities belonging to Bavaria instead. During the months of April and May 1946 was followed by yet the first elections of the mayor, district administrators and district councils. 2006, the 60th anniversary was celebrated.

Parish council

The council consists of 12 people. After the local elections in 2014 (compared to local elections 2008 ) including ten (ten) men and two (two) women. The election resulted in the following distribution of seats in the local council:

  • CSU 6 (7 ) seats and
  • Community welfare 6 ( 5) seats.

In the municipal elections in 1903 ( 1,513 ) were eligible to vote citizens. 1,081 ( 1,186 ) of which have participated as voters, representing a turnout of 56.8 ( 78.4 ) percent. 1.060 ( 1.170 ) valid and 21 ( 16) invalid votes were cast.

Mayor

Currently holds this office Konrad Harthauser (CSU ). He was confirmed in 2014 in 2008 to succeed Georg Shindlbeck (CSU ) and in local elections in his office.

Coat of arms

The guided since 1983 coat of arms shows in blue a silver pole, topped with a green mountain from which a green fir grows, front a silver jar, behind a silver heraldic lily.

The fir tree on the green mountain symbolizes the geographical location of the community on Kröninger forest. The jar is reminiscent of the previously operated mainly in winter craft of Hafnerei, the small farmers " in Kröning " a sideline secured for centuries. The silver lily in the back field refers to the monastery, founded in 1296 Niederviehbach that has particularly influenced the historical development in the community town of Kirchberg. The tincture in silver and blue corresponds to the Wittelsbach country colors and underlines the affiliation of its territory to the electoral Pfleggericht Teisbach.

Attractions

  • Art Nouveau Immaculate Conception Church in Dietel churches. It was built from 1912 to 1913.
  • The still preserved in Bödldorf typical houses Hafner 1-6 were taken as an ensemble in the monument list.
  • Parish Church of St. Florian and Wolfgang Kirchberg. The gothic structure was built around 1470. The free-standing tower probably dates from the earlier church from the 12th century. Interior is equipped with a neo-Gothic wing altar the church. Up in Gespreng an otherwise neo-Gothic Crucifixion you see a rococo figure of Mary. Local historian Bartholomew Spirkner was pastor from 1908 to 1919 in Kirchberg.
  • Sanctuary of the Virgin Birth in Wippstetten. It was built in the second half of the 15th century in the Gothic style and baroque expanded in 1760.
