Geography

The municipality is located in Tennengau in Salzburg at the foot of the High Gölls. The urban area is crossed by the River Salzach.

History

The town has Roman roots: Cucullae, Cucullis.

997 resulted in a swap contract of service Kuchler man Gezo with the Archbishop of Salzburg establishing a mother parish in Kuchl and finally to the establishment of a county, including district court, which existed until the mid-15th century. Museum

Kuchl is known as a stronghold in table tennis, also by winning the Austrian State Championship. Four times the title was won, with Gottfried Heinz Bär and Hiegelsberger were the outstanding players of the club. Popular with Flußsurfern and kayakers is the Kuchler surge in the Salzach.

The Schusterjahrtag

On the first Monday after the Nativity of Mary is celebrated in the Schusterjahrtag Kuchl. It is a holiday for all employees and your employer in the Kuchler companies. Today, all apprentices celebrate with your training masters in Kuchl. On this day, we gather in front of the guild hostel ( Golden Stairs ) and march into the church. Then they march through the market. The procession is led by the guild father. This provides support for cross guild. Behind the march of the flag bearer with the guild flag.
