La Almunia de Doña Godina

La Almunia de Doña Godina is the capital of the comarca Valdejalón in the Spanish province of Zaragoza. It is located about 50 kilometers west of Zaragoza halfway to Calatayud on the A -2. The river Jalon flows through the municipal area.

The cityscape of the spire of the Iglesia de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora (Feast of Assumption Church ) stands out, an example of Mudejar architecture in Aragon. Nationally known is La Almunia in addition for the Escuela Universitaria Politécnica located there de La Almunia ( EUPLA ), which belongs to the University of Zaragoza. At the EUPLA the engineering courses mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, agricultural services, horticulture and agriculture, computer science, Technical Architecture and Civil Engineering of Public Works be taught.
