Lalande Prize

The Lalande Prize (French Prix Lalande ) is one of 1802, awarded by the French Academy of Sciences until 1970 award for astronomical research papers.

In 1801, Jérôme Lalande presented the Academy of Sciences a donation, to enable her to give each year a prize to the person " who has made the most remarkable observation or written the most useful for the progress of astronomy working in France or elsewhere. "This prize was awarded to the year 1970. He was then merged with the Foundation Benjamin Valz; the Lalande- Benjamin - Valz Prize was awarded to 1996. In 1997 it was merged with a number of other foundations to " Grande Médaille ".
