Lan Sak District

Amphoe Lan Sak ( Thai อำเภอ ลานสัก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Uthai Thani. The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from east clockwise): Amphoe Sawang Arom the, Thap Than, Nong Chang, Huai Khot and Ban Rai of Uthai Thani province and Amphoe Mae and Chum Ta Bong Poen in the province of Nakhon Sawan.

Important water resources of the district are the reservoir Huai Thap Salao and Kha Khaeng Maenam ( " Khakhaeng river ", also: " Huai Kha Khaeng ").

History

The Tambon Lan Sak and Pradu Yuen of Amphoe Ban Rai was on 15 October 1975 a new sub-district ( King Amphoe ) appointed. The administration was in Ban Pak Muean. On July 13, 1981 Lan Sak has been promoted to Amphoe. At the same time the administration was moved to Ban Kao.

Management

Amphoe Lan Sak is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 81 villages ( Muban ).

Lan Sak ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลานสัก ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, which covers parts of tambon Lan Sak and Pradu Yuen.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
