Mueang Uthai Thani District

Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani ( Thai เมือง อุทัยธานี ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northeastern province of Uthai Thani. The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

To the west of Uthai Thani is a jungle -covered highlands rises. In the north, east and south, the alluvial deposits of the Chao Phraya is farmed intensively.

Neighboring districts are (from west clockwise) Nong and Thap Than Khayang the province of Uthai Thani, Krok Phra and Phayuha Khiri of Nakhon Sawan and Wat Sing and Manorom Chainat Province.

Economic importance and

In Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani an excellent five-star OTOP product is manufactured: incense sticks and mosquito repellants.

Attractions

  • Wat Sangkat Rattana Khiri ( Thai: วัด สั ง กั ส รัตน คีรี ) - Buddhist temple ( wat ) at the foot of Khao Sakaekrang with a large Buddha statue in Sukhothai style. It was prepared at the time of King Phra Phutthayotfa Chulaloke ( Rama I ) and should contain a relic in the head.
  • Wat Ubosatharam (also: Wat Bot, Thai วัด อุ โปส ถา ราม ) - on the eastern bank of the Maenam Sakaekrang, with murals of the Rattanakosin period in ubosot and Viharn. Also worth seeing is the old Bai Sema, the boundary stones of ubosot.

Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani is divided into 14 communes ( tambon), which further into 86 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
