Country's mountains is a municipality in the district of Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony ( Germany ). The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Mittelweser.

Geography

Country's mountains lies the nature park Steinhude on the Weser River and about in the middle between Nienburg / Weser and the city of Hagen.

History

Landsbergen was first documented in 1055. The village formerly had a noble race that called itself the country mountains, its headquarters. In 2005, the congregation celebrated its 950th anniversary with a commemorative event.

Country hills was the seat of Samtgemeinde country mountains. This was created by an administrative reform on 1 July 1967, with the independent communities Hahnberg, country mountains, Leese and Leeseringen were merged. In the course of municipal reform in Lower Saxony found on March 1 to its final shape in 1974 with the member communities Estorf, Husum, country mountains and Leese. On 1 November 2011, the country Samtgemeinde mountains and the community Stolzenau formed the Samtgemeinde Mittelweser based in Stolzenau.

Incorporations

Coat of arms

Culture and sights

  • The Dutch gallery windmill country mountain stands on a two-story square base of 1872. It was conducted after a fire in the years 1915-1980 without wings with an electric motor. In a large-scale renovation of the years 1985-1987, the so-called wedding mill received in the interiors of a local museum and a maid room.
  • The Mill Square is today with the mill and other adjacent, here staggered half-timbered houses the cultural center of the community.
  • The former heavyweight Inger Weserfähre is in local mountains since December 1999 at the mill place. Such ferry was first mentioned in 1560.

Regular events

Since 2004, the live role-playing Conquest of Mythodea takes place in the district Brokeloh annually. Every year around 6,000 fantasy RPG fans participate from Europe, Japan, America and other countries in the event.

Music

There is a fire department marching band, a trombone, a glee club, a singing circle and the vocal chorus " The Tontreffer ".
