Lerín

Lerín is a Spanish municipality in the Comunidad Foral de Navarra and the comarca of Estella Oriental. It has 1756 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) and is 55 km from Pamplona.

Neighboring municipalities are: Allo, Oteiza de la Solana and Larraga in the north, Miranda de Arga and Falces in the east, and Andosilla Cárcar in the south and in the west Sesma.

History

In Lerín a castle has existed since the mid-11th century, which belonged to the King of Navarre. 1425 directed King Charles III. of Navarre, the county Lerín for his illegitimate daughter Juana, which was married to Luis de Beaumont.
