Les Aynans

Les Aynans is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Les Aynans situated at an altitude of 280 m above sea level, 8 km south-southwest of Lure and about 22 km east of the town of Vesoul (air line). The long-drawn street village extends in the central part of the department, in the broad valley on the western shore of the Ognon, on the southern edge of the plain of Lure.

The area of ​​7.82 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the level of Lure. From the north- northeast to south-southwest, the area is crossed by the Ognon. History

Is first mentioned Les Aynans in 1145 under the name Aynans. From 1307, the spelling Haignens is preserved. Later, between the two towns Aynans -Dessus ( in the north) and Aynans - Lingerie ( in the south) differed, and in 1770 appeared the name Les Deux Aynans on. In the Middle Ages Les Aynans belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. It formed its own rule. In 1346 the town was burned down by the Lords of Faucogney on fire. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Attractions

The village church of Les Aynans was rebuilt in 1846. It houses a pulpit, an altar and a statue made ​​of wood from the 18th century and four gilded bronze chandelier in the Louis XIII style. South of the village stands a tower of the 16th century.

Population

With 344 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Les Aynans one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1906 557 persons were still counted ), only small fluctuations were recorded since the early 1980s.

Economy and infrastructure
