List of counts of Mâcon

The county of Macon was in the south of today's Bourgogne region, between the County of Charolais and the Saône. It is the core of the wine region Maconnais. The county probably existed even at the time of the Merovingians, but first counts are known to us only by name from the late Carolingian period. My counts are known from the 9th century to 1239 ( selling to the French crown ).
