List of Germans by net worth

The list of the richest Germans counts assets of the richest individuals of German nationality chronologically. A list of the richest people in the world published by Forbes Magazine annually under the title The World's Billionaires.

Notes

The asset information is based on estimates. Basis for evaluation research at asset managers, lawyers, bank managers and insiders. Assets were evaluated carefully, share capital after the courses at a date (for example, August 31, 2004 ), unlisted companies by their turnover, their profitability and market position. As assets include, among other companies investments, land and real estate, stocks, private collections and foundations, unless it is explicitly non-profit foundations. Criticism

The Cicero magazine criticized in its issue of May 2006 that the Forbes list can determine the share values ​​of the family office is difficult and therefore the figures are based on estimates.

Regardless of the different approaches to under-and over-valuation policy of the considered economic areas, the source Forbes sees himself as an estimate.

2011 sued Josef Boquoi, founder of the company Bofrost, Manager Magazin injunction. He did not want to be named on the list of the 100 richest Germans. The Regional Court Munich I dismissed the lawsuit. The presiding judge declared that a society must have very large fortunes, can discuss their existence and their use.
