List of mayors of Augsburg
The list of Mayor of Augsburg points to the holders of the office of lord mayor in Augsburg, although the terminology used for varied over the centuries.
At the top of the city of Augsburg, as Chairman of the Council demonstrated that for 1266 the town nurse, who was sometimes referred to as mayor, which meant that sometimes both titles were in use simultaneously. It was not until 1548 the title was standardized at city nurse. These officiated over several years and were from then elected for life, so there were also several city nurse simultaneously. After the conquest of Bavaria in 1805 by Napoleon Augsburg lost its status of a free imperial city. Previously, these cities were only subordinate to the German Kaiser. Until 1919 most nobles had held the office of mayor. With the overthrow of the last German Emperor Wilhelm II and the advent of democracy the office of mayor was selected, this also results in the party affiliation. In 1907 the title of the Lord Mayor.
