List of motorways in Luxembourg
In the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, there is a well-developed, toll- free for cars motorway and expressway network (French: Autoroutes et voies express ) and currently about 150 km, which constitutes the backbone of transport in the Grand Duchy, together with the 2875 km long national road network. The highways are marked with an A, the highways with a B.
The expansion of the motorway network started very late compared to neighboring European countries: In 1969, the first sections of the A1 ( Kirchberg Senningerberg ) and A4 ( Pontpierre-Esch/Lallange ) were put into operation. The Government of the Grand Duchy is considering to join a planned Benelux - wide toll system for trucks and abandon the current system Euro vignette. Regulations
The A6 and A1 overlap and can traverse the entire country of the Belgium / Luxembourg to the Luxembourgish / German border.
