  • 2003 was chosen with Anneli Jäätteenmäki first woman to government chairman of Finland.
  • So far, only six governments pass a legislative period of four years: Cabinet Kivimäki (1932-1936), Cabinet Sorsa IV (1983-1987), Cabinet Holkeri (1987-1991), Cabinet Aho (1991-1995), Cabinet Lipponen I (1995 -1999 ) and the Cabinet Lipponen II ( 1999-2003). Toivo Kivimäki even managed this with a minority government.
  • The caretaker cabinet Hackzell officiated only 45 days. Annelli Jäätteenmäki led with 69 days, the shortest tenure of a solid government.
  • Urho Kekkonen Prime Minister was five different governments 1950-1956, before he was elected president.
  • Almost 26 years after the end of his first term was Juho Kusti Paasikivi 1944 for the second time Prime Minister.
  • Four parties have been so far only once the Prime Minister: The Young Finnish Party ( Svinhufvud ) and the Finnish Party ( PAASIKIVI ), but both existed only until 1918, the Democratic Union of the Finnish people ( Pekkala ) and the Swedish People's Party ( Törngren ).
  • The last minority government led Martti Miettunen 1976/77. Previously, there had been 18 minority governments, eight were transitional governments in office.
  • The Prime Minister deserves as much as the Speaker of Parliament. In May 2011 they were 11,675 euros.
