Luigi Kuveiller

Luigi Kuveiller ( born October 3, 1927 in Rome, † January 10, 2013 in Fiano Romano ) was an Italian cinematographer.

Life

Kuveiller worked since the early 1950s as a Camera Operator, at first primarily for Romolo Garroni, later for Aldo Scavarda ( in Michelangelo Antonioni's L' avventura, 1960) and Aldo Tonti (with Mauro Bologninis Agostino, 1962, Mario Monicelli's Casanova and '70, 1964). Briefly, he was also chief lighting technician and is finally working as director of photography since the mid- 1960s.

In Cinecittà he turned first priority international co-production, directed by Elio Petri and Eriprando Visconti, soon also with international directors such as Vic Morrow and Billy Wilder. In parallel, he began in the horror genre to work, first with Lucio Fulci, then with greater media attention in the produced by Carlo Ponti and Andrew Brown Mountain 3D splatter film Andy Warhol's Frankenstein (1973) and the rotated with the leftover money successor Andy Warhol's Dracula (both under the directed by Warhol's house director Paul Morrissey ), and finally as Dario Argento's Giallo cameraman for classic Profondo rosso (1975).

After that Kuveiller profiled primarily as a craftsman in the comedy genre, where he turned with directors such as Mario Monicelli and Alberto Sordi; later a number of clothes added with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer. Was interrupted comedy series by some political thriller by Damiano Damiani and a brief return to the splatter genre with Fulci's The New York Ripper (1982).

In the 1980s and 1990s, many works were produced with director Carlo Vanzina, some television productions and another horror film ( Lamberto Bava's Body Puzzle ).
