Maciej Lampe

Marciej Bolesław lamp (born 5 February 1985 in Łódź) is a Polish basketball player.

Youth

Maciej lamp was born in Poland, but grew up in Stockholm in Sweden. In addition to the Polish passport he also has Swedish citizenship. As a teenager he was recruited for the basketball department of Real Madrid. In Madrid, he became one of the greatest basketball talents in Europe.

NBA

Lamp was the eve of the NBA Draft in 2003 alongside Darko Miličić as Europe's biggest talent. Many experts saw as a lamp Lottery candidates ( top 13). Due to the difficult contractual situation and the high demand release of Real Madrid, which was set for a change in the NBA, many NBA teams shied away from the risk of faulty bulb in the first round Draft. Eventually the lamp in the second round by being pulled 30 out of the New York Knicks.

In the NBA Summer League in Utah lamp played for the team and convinced the Knicks with 17.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. The Knicks management then decided, Lamp buy out of the contract with Real Madrid. Due to an injury lamp never played for the Knicks, he was instead traded in January 2004 to the Phoenix Suns. He was all time to date the youngest Suns player. He finished his rookie season with 4.6 points in 10.7 minutes per game off. After he saw little playing time in the second year, he was transferred to the New Orleans Hornets. In exchange, went to Phoenix, among other things, a draft pick, with the later Lampe's Marcin Gortat compatriot was drafted.

After his NBA career, lamp finished in 2006 initially to BK from Dynamo Saint Petersburg. However, he left the team after it was announced that the team was relegated from the first division because of inability to pay. In the same year he joined BK Khimki. Khimki beat CSKA Moscow in the cup final in 2008 and the lamp was awarded the MVP of the game. Overall, he played three years for Khimki, moved more to Israel.

After a brief stint in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv lamp returned to Russia. He signed a contract in January 2010 at UNICS Kazan. With Kazan won the ULEB Eurocup lamp 2011. For his achievements he was elected to the All- Eurocup 1st team. Likewise lamp was awarded the MVP of the Russian League. For Kazan lamp scored in 96 games 15.9 points per game.

In July 2011, lamp signed a two-year contract with Saski Baskonia.

Internationally

Maciej lamp is a member of the Polish national team and was at the 2009 European Championship on home soil in the squad.
