Marek Biernacki

Marek Biernacki ( born April 28, 1959 in Sopot ) is a Polish politician of the Civic Platform ( Platforma Obywatelska ) and Justice Minister in the Cabinet Tusk.

Life

Marek Biernacki grew up in Gdansk. At the university he studied law and administration and closed it in 1985. From 1980 he was a member of the organization Ruch Młodej Polski. After leaving university he worked at the Historical Museum in Gdańsk and at the Department of Criminology of the University of Gdańsk. From 1997 he was a lecturer at the university and taught law and history. In 1991, after the political changes in Poland, Marek Biernacki was the liquidator of the property of the Polish United Workers' Party ( Polska Zjednoczona partia Robotnicza, PZPR ).

In 1997, he became involved in the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność and pulled for them in the Sejm. From 1999 to 2001 Biernacki was Minister of Interior and Administration ( Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji ). From 2002 to 2004 he was Vice- Marshal of the Pomeranian province. In the parliamentary elections in 2005, he pulled a platform for citizens in the Sejm and even at the early elections in 2007 he was able to win a seat in the Sejm.

On April 29, 2013 Biernacki was chosen as the Minister of Justice in the Cabinet Tusk II as the successor of Jarosław Gowin and called on May 6 to this post by the President.
