Mari Kiviniemi

Mari Johanna Kiviniemi ( born September 27, 1968 in Seinäjoki ) is a Finnish politician ( center ) and was dated 22 June, 2010 to June 22, 2011 Finnish Prime Minister.

Life

Mari Kiviniemi was born as the daughter of a farmer in the western Finnish town of Seinäjoki. From 1985 to 1986 she spent a year as an exchange student in Lower Saxony Scheessel, where she attended Oak School. In 1988 she began her studies at the University of Helsinki.

Kiviniemi is the mother of two children.

Policy

Mari Kiviniemi is Member of Parliament since 1995. From 2005, she has served in the Government of Finland 's Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Development and, from 2006, the Minister of Public Administration and Local. In June 2010 she was elected 1357:1035 votes in a vote against Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen for two years as Chairman of the Centre Party.
