Marko Livaja

Marko Livaja (* August 26, 1993 in Split ) is a Croatian footballer who plays for Atalanta Bergamo.

His two- years younger brother Mirko is the Serie A team Catania Calcio under contract.

Club career

Livaja began his career in youth teams of various Croatian clubs. Hajduk Split, a club in which Livaja was also the senior squad, he moved abroad to Inter Milan, but was then loaned to the Swiss second-division club FC Lugano.

Then moved Livaja for Italian club AC Cesena, who gave a portion of his transfer rights. There he gave his Serie A debut as a substitute on October 16, 2011 compared to Fiorentina. In January 2012 he returned to Inter Milan. In the Milanese he was first employed in the Primavera, belonged in some games the second half of the season 2011/12 but also the professional squad of Inter at (initially without insert).

His competitive debut for Inter he gave on August 2, 2012, when he came off the bench in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2012/13 against his former club Hajduk Split. On September 20, 2012, he scored against Rubin Kazan in a game of Europa League group stage his first competitive goal for Milan.

On January 31, 2013 it was announced that Atalanta acquired a portion of the transfer rights to the young striker and that Livaja will accrue in the second half of the 2012/13 season for Atalanta. In Atalanta striker was able to achieve his first two Serie A goals against AS Roma on February 24, 2013, but also made negative attention to themselves: In April 2013 he was suspended shortly after a dispute with coach Stefano Colantuono. A few weeks later, in May 2013, Livaja was suspended again after he had beaten his teammate Ivan Radovanovic during a training session. Yet he remained for 2013/14 season at Atalanta, where he regularly is used.

National

So far Livaja ran on for various youth teams of Croatia and was for a total of 20 goals this achieve (as of 30 May 2012). Livaja participated in the qualifications for the U-17 European Championship in 2009, for the U- 17 European Championship in 2010 and for the U-19 Championship 2012.

With Croatia's U -20 team Livaja took part in the U- 20 World Cup in 2013 and ran there together with Ante Rebić on by storm. That from his team in the second round he could not prevent.
