Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi Emanuel Rivero (born 19 February 1993 Rosario ) is an Argentine- Italian football player. He plays as a striker for Italian Serie A club Inter Milan which holds together with Sampdoria transfer rights to him.

Club career

Mauro Icardi was born in Rosario, the hometown of Lionel Messi. Due to economic difficulties, his family moved to Spain, where the then nine -year-old Mauro initially rushed to the local club UD Vecindario and during his time there, scored 384 goals. So he managed to attract the interest of larger teams, and at the age of 15 years, he opted for a change in the youth academy of FC Barcelona. Messi himself is said to have stood up for the talent. Characterized as a classic center forward, Icardi however did not fit in spite of a good strike rate in various youth teams in the concept of FC Barcelona, which relies on mitspielende striker. That's why he was hired in January 2011 with an option for a permanent commitment by 400,000 euros, which later was also drawn to the Italian club Sampdoria.

In his first year and a half in Genoa Icardi was used mainly in the youth team of Sampdoria, where he met regularly. Towards the end of the season 2011/12, on 12 May 2012, but he was able to celebrate his debut in the first team: In a Series B game against Juve Stabia he came on in the closing stages, and scored a few minutes later the winner. In the 2012/13 season Sampdoria played back in Serie A and Icardi celebrated his final breakthrough: With ten goals he was the top scorer of his team. He could achieve alone on matchday 22 against Pescara Four goals he scored three more goals in the two league games against champions Juventus.

On July 9, 2013 Inter Milan announced that Milan have acquired 50 % of the transfer rights to the striker and Icardi will accrue in the future for Inter. His first competitive goal for the Nerazzurri, he scored on 14 September 2013 Derby d' Italia against Juventus. The game ended 1-1.

National

The Italian language has Icardi perfectly mastered already within four months after his move from Barcelona to Sampdoria. In addition to his Argentine passport he also owns an Italian. Nevertheless, Icardi has opted for the national team of his native country because he felt as Argentines. He now runs regularly for the U- 20 team of the Albiceleste.

His international debut he gave on 10 October 2013 classic against Uruguay.
