Maxim Spiridonov

Maxim Vladimirovich Spiridonov (Russian Максим Владимирович Спиридонов; born April 7, 1978 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player standing since 2012 with Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Maxim Spiridonov began his career as a hockey player in Russia and moved as a 18 -year-old to the London Knights to North America. For the Knights, he was from 1996 to 1998 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League active. Subsequently, he was selected in the ninth round in the NHL Entry Draft in 1998 as a total 241 players from the Edmonton Oilers, for whom he never played, however. Instead, he played in the 1998/99 season for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the International Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League. The following season he joined the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks of the East Coast Hockey League, before he moved to the Hamilton Bulldogs at the end of the 1999/2000 season in the AHL, for which he was also in the following year on the ice.

In summer 2001, Spiridonov returned to his native Russia, where it ran aground in the following two years, each for one season in the Super League for Salavat Yulaev Ufa and Khabarovsk Amur. In the season 2002/ 03 at Amur he was top scorer with 21 goals in the league. After he started the season in 2003/04 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, he ended it with his former club from Khabarovsk. This was followed by one each season at Severstal Cherepovets and reigning champion HK Dynamo Moscow, before the links Sagittarius moved to season 2006/ 07 for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the subprime Wysschaja League, with whom he was second division champions. Then he was given the opportunity to return to the first division, where he started the season 2007/ 08 at Metallurg Novokuznetsk. This, however, he left after only 19 games already returned to join the EHC Basel of the Swiss National League A join in which he did not renew his contract after its descent.

For the 2008/09 season signed Spiridonov a contract with Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League. For the Kazakhs the winger scored 43 points scorer in a total of 52 games. In 2010, he joined together with Jozef Stümpel and Konstantin Glasatschow to league rivals HK Dinamo Minsk. Again, a year later Spiridonov changed with Glasatschow to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk, while Stümpel went to HK Spartak Moscow. In November 2011 he was again in the KHL transferred, this time to Ak Bars Kazan.

In summer 2012, Spiridonov returned to Barys Astana.
