Mbark Boussoufa

Moubarak " Mbark " Boussoufa ( born August 15, 1984 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch -born Moroccan football player.

Club career

The attacking midfielder Mbark Boussoufa comes from the world famous Art School of Ajax Amsterdam. From there he moved in 2002 for one million euros to England to reserve Chelsea. Two years later Boussoufa went for 220,000 euros to Belgium to KAA Gent, where he was equally honored in 2006 with four awards. In addition to Belgium and Morocco's Footballer of the Year award, he was also young players of Belgium and of the best African player of the season. After these successes Mbark Boussoufa moved in 2006 to RSC Anderlecht. Also the Belgian giants to Boussoufa established in the starting lineup and was under coach Franky Vercauteren for service providers. There Boussoufas club started with half of the points earned in the championship. None of the 10 playoff games was lost ( 7 wins, 3 draws ) and Anderlecht won the 30th championship in their history. Mbark Boussoufa contributed nine goals this season in the league and 5 more in the championship playoffs in and was once again instrumental in this success. In addition, he was awarded after 2006 and 2009 for the third time with the ebb Houten Schoen for the best African footballer of the Jupiler Pro League. In the UEFA Champions League 2009/10 his club failed in the third qualifying round against Olympique Lyon in France and therefore moved to the UEFA Europa League. Mbark Boussoufa had the choice between the Dutch and the Moroccan national team and ultimately chose for the Moroccan. On 23 May 2006 he played his first match against the USA.
