Mehdi Benatia (2011)

Mehdi Benatia ( born April 17, 1987 in Evry ) is a Moroccan- French footballer who is under contract with AS Roma since July 2013.

Career

Benatia was born in France, even though the father is Moroccan and her mother comes from Algeria.

He began his professional career at Olympique Marseille, where he already played in youth, but in three years he completed a single competitive match for the first team. In 2006 he was loaned to FC Tours, where he was a regular player and 29 games completed. A year later he was awarded again, this time. Sent to FC Lorient, however, for which he played a single game After the end of the loan period Benatia looked at Olympique Marseille sporting future no more and moved in 2008 to Clermont Foot. In the new club he became a regular in the defense force.

On 3 February 2010, he signed a contract with Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio, who possessed valid from July 2010.

On July 14, AS Roma has announced the commitment Benatias. He received a five year contract.

National

Benatia played for the French U-18 national team, but was not considered for the U- 20 from Morocco. On 19 November 2008, he played his first international match for the Moroccan national football team in a friendly against Zambia. It was while he second-half substitute in a 3-0 lead for Youssef Rabeh.
