Měník

Měník ( German Mienik ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southeast of Nový Bydžov and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Měník is on the left of the Cidlina on the East Bohemian panel in the saddle between the hills Horka (266 m) and boron ( 271 m). In the surroundings of the village are several ponds.

Neighboring towns are Liben and Zdechovice in the northeast, and Barchůvek Bydžovská Lhotka in the southeast, Kosice in the south, Mlékosrby, Luková and Zadražany in the southwest, and Zachrašťany Vysočany in the west and Humburky in the northwest.

History

The first mention of the good Měnín was in 1332 as a possession of the noble Martin of Měnín. As more owners are, inter alia, from January 1383 Čapek from Měnín, from 1409 provides Mikuláš Kostlovec of Měnín and from 1518 Václav měničky of Měnín. At the end of the 15th century, the name form Měník arose. Martin měničky of Cerveny Ves sold the farm to the village in 1599 to the city Bidschow. In the Berni rula 1654 five farmers, three sojourners and a blacksmith listed for Měnín. While the serf uprising of 1775, the residents of Měnín reached during Bidschower Council, the parcelling of the court Měnín after Raab 's system.

After the abolition of patrimonial Mněník / Mnenik formed with the hamlet of loved ones from 1850 onwards a municipality in the district of Nový Bydžov. Since 1878, the municipality bears the name Měník. Along with the neighboring village Humburky Měník is a center of horse breeding, the family Kubišta since the end of the 19th century, this worked in several generations. In 1900 the municipality had 1077 inhabitants Měník. Since 1961 Měník belongs to Okres Hradec Králové, at the same time was the incorporation of Bydžovská Lhotka. 1970 lived 600 people in the community. 1980 has been incorporated Barchůvek.

The municipality consists of the villages Měník Barchůvek (small Barchow ) Bydžovská Lhotka ( Bidschower Lhota ), Liben ( love ) and Měník ( Mienik ).
