Middle Juba

Jubbada Dhexe (Middle Jubba -; Arab جوبا الوسطى, DMG Ǧūbbā al - Wusţá ) is a region ( Gobolka ) in southern Somalia with about 349,000 inhabitants. Its capital is Buaale.

The region lies on the Indian Ocean and is named after the river Jubba, which flows through it. The largest city is Jilib, where the Shabeelle River - combined with the Jubba - in rainy years. Jubbada Dhexe consists of the three districts Buaale, Jilib and Korsakov.

Unlike many parts of Somalia Jubbada Dhexe is fertile due to its location in the Jubba Valley. However, the civil war in Somalia led also to food shortages and hunger. 2006, floods in the Jubba.

The residents of Jubbada Dhexe belong to different Somali clans. The ethnic minority of the Bantu in Somalia is represented in the Gosha area near the Jubba.
