Mitch Richmond

Mitchell James " Mitch " Richmond ( * June 30, 1965 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida ) is a former professional basketball player who was active in the NBA. In his time he was considered one of the best three shooters in the NBA.

He was drafted in 1988 to fifth position from the Golden State Warriors, received at the end of the season the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and have led the NBA All- Rookie Team this year at. In 1991 he moved to the Sacramento Kings, where he remained faithful until 1998. During this time he was appointed six times in the All-Star team in the Western Conference, where he was chosen as the 1995 MVP.

After he then played three seasons with the Washington Wizards, he moved to the 2001/ 02 season to the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won his only NBA championship in his final season.

With the basketball team of the United States, he won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics in 1988. Later he was able to win the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics with the Dream Team III.

Due to his athleticism was his nickname " The Rock".
